This ensuite was a remodel. The layout was not serving the client any longer and we felt we could make better use of the large footprint.
The design started with the dark over scaled tile. The clients wanted a warm and moody vibe. The dark tile extends into the shower as well as up the shower walls. Using a glass enclosure on the shower really helps to keep the space feeling open, even though we used such dark elements.
To incorporate the warmth we used a natural white oak cabinetry that extends the length of the room. It includes double sinks, plenty of storage and countertop area as well as a vanity area.
I continued the use of black accents with faucets, hardware and countertop accessories. It creates great contrast against the crisp white walls.
To complete the moody vibe I used layered lighting. The pot lights provide great overall light but by adding the under cabinet floor lighting you can create a soft relaxing atmosphere. Great for at night. The the back lit mirrors create the perfect lighting for make up and shaving.
